Schomberg Village Street Gallery

Greg is Co-Chair of the Schomberg Village Street Gallery (an ASK-sponsored event), turning the backdrop of historic Schomberg Main Street into a stage for nearly two dozen juried local and area artists to sell their works.

The 2009 and 2010 shows were great successes!  Main Street has proven to be an excellent backdrop for the best of visual art in King Township and beyond.

Mark your calendars for the third weekend in September: the 17th and 18th (10:00 – 5:00) and check the SVSG website for more information as this date approaches.

SVSG is a working committee of Arts Society King.

Greg is Board member of York Regional Arts Council, representing the interests of King Township, its vast artist population, and ASK.  Only one of two career artists on the Board, Greg’s perspective is valuable in ensuring that marketing programmes “hit the road” for York Region artists.

Greg has been honoured by his appointment as Chair, YRAC Grants Committee, responsible for the administration and processing of Regional Chair Bill Fisch’s $125,000 arts grant programme to York Region individual artists and arts organizations in 2010.  Read about the programme announcement here.

  1. I really like the idea of more community engagement. So often we simply come and go through our days and give our community very little thought, unless pushed. Recent meetings on what is going on, (or going to be going on) in Nobleton have given us all an idea of just how vocal we can be. Our community matters to ALL of us. Like so many others, I moved into King because I love the community, and am now finding myself resisting the inevitable changes that are coming. But if I don’t get involved, and let my voice be heard, I will have no one to blame but myself.
